Geodis UK gearing up for new contract
Geodis UK has announced a significant new contract with high tech manufacturing company Gear4 for warehousing and distribution of the manufacturer’s iPod accessories within the UK. The deal will see Geodis supplying Gear4’s market-leading equipment - a range of speakers, cases and connectivity devices designed specifically for use with the iPod - to a number of well-known high street retailers.
Geodis UK is one of the country’s most experienced providers of logistics services to the IT and high tech industries, offering a wide range of added value services specific to the sector. The company currently holds a stock of Gear4’s merchandise at its High Wycombe headquarters, warehousing full container loads of product, which are then distributed to Gear4’s major customers as full pallet loads.
Jamie Cuthbert, managing director of Geodis UK, said that the logistics company’s expertise in the high tech sector was one of a number of factors affecting Gear4’s decision to partner with them for distribution services.
“Within the UK, we have made a conscious decision to concentrate our activity on areas where we already enjoy genuine expertise,” explained Cuthbert. “We specialise in the storage and distribution of high-value products and offer a number of value-adding services in sectors such as high tech, textiles and pharmaceutical. Furthermore, our worldwide network allows customers to enjoy a seamless transition between the various elements of their supply chain operations.
“We relish the opportunity to work alongside Gear4 and look forward to working more and more closely with them as the contract progresses. As a global organisation, with a wealth of experience in the high tech industry, we are well-equipped to provide a complete, end-to-end offering to clients operating in this marketplace.”
